I. System Overview

There are many different types of metalworking fluid filters. VWALVE builds a Central Coolant Filtration System. As an alternative to the pressure plate design, the VWALVE system utilizes a dual pressure vessel configuration for continuous filtration without downtime.

II. Key Benefits

  • Continuous Filtration: Two pressure vessels alternate between filtration and backwash modes, ensuring zero downtime
  • High Filtration Efficiency: Achieves 99.5% filtration efficiency for particles down to 25 microns
  • Reduced Coolant Waste: Extends coolant life by up to 3x, significantly reducing disposal costs
  • Lower Operating Costs: Automated backwash reduces manual maintenance requirements
  • Compact Design: Modular skid-mounted system saves floor space

III. Coolant Filtration Process

Dirty coolant from the machining center flows into the first pressure vessel where contaminants are captured by the filter media. When the pressure differential reaches the set point, the system automatically switches flow to the second vessel and initiates backwash on the first. Clean coolant returns to the supply tank, maintaining consistent fluid quality.

IV. Component Specifications

ComponentSpecification
Filtration Rating25 micron
Flow Rate100-500 L/min

V. Pumps and Controls

The system includes a supply pump, circulation pump, and automatic control valves. All components are selected for reliability in harsh industrial environments. The PLC-based control system monitors pressure differential, flow rate, and coolant temperature, providing real-time status indication and automatic alarm functions.
